3 Seafood restaurants for your family this summer

Summer is coming and the inevitable beach trips are bound to happen and we are here to help you find somewhere to eat while beaching. Typically when you think the coast and beaches, the first food you are bound to think of is seafood, so who wouldn't benefit from some options of fresh local seafood on Georgia's coasts? Below is our list of three restaurants in some of Georgia's most populous tourism spots.

  1. Bubba Gumbo's- Tybee Island, GA

Bubba Gumbo's was originally established in 1997 by Paul Burns but has since been reopened by Caitlin Burns, his daughter, and Chef Gordon Card in 2015. Bubba Gumbo's is located on Lazaretto Creek offering premier seafood to tourist and residents in a historic as well as seats with a view. The offerings are vast ranging from starter gumbos all the way to fried flounder and even seafood burgers. If a nice family seafood dinner for an affordable price is what you are looking for near Tybee Island, Bubba Gumbo's is the place to go.

2. Blue Parrot Ocean Front Cafe- St. George Island, GA

Need a kid friendly and colorful change of scenery while visiting St. George? Blue Parrot is all the fun, color, and delicious food you could imagine from a seafood restaurant at the beach. 3. Iguanas Seafood Restaurant- St. Simons Island, GA

When thinking about seafood, the first thing to cross your mind is typically, "is it fresh?" Iguanas serves everything fresh and all shrimp is wild Georgia caught right off the coast. Iguanas is sure that you can tell the difference between their fresh shrimp and pond raised and are determined to not let the local shrimp industry die. Located in the historic Pier Village, there is ample seating room including a sought after seat on their covered patio. If authentic seafood fresh from the coast is what you are looking for then look no further, Iguanas has what you need and when you're done enjoy a complimentary bowl of soft serve ice cream.
