With such busy everyday lives, it's always a good time to take a break and grab a cup of coffee as well as a snack. Choosing a coffee shop or cafe shouldn't be hard so here at BitesandFlightsGA we have compiled a list on some shops around the state you have to try!

  1. Cafe Intermezzo - Atlanta, GA

ree

You can find our first shop right in Midtown Atlanta! Cafe Intermezzo is not your traditional coffee shop, it's a European style inspired Kaffehaus looking to bring the slow moving life to a busy America. Intermezzo favors the term "intermission" and this was intended because the shop was meant to act as a break or "intermission" for daily life. Intermezzo offers all three meals with an extensive menu consisting of almost 60 pastries! Psst! I even hear they serve cocktails and wine in the evenings!

2. Hendershot's - Athens, GA

ree

Do you love a full selection of coffees and espresso as well as open bars, live music and open mic nights? Who doesn't! Hendershot's coffee house exceeds the standard of what a coffee shop can be. It has all the workings for college or young adult life by fueling our addictions to coffee and just having fun while being relaxed. Hendershot's is always doing some form of live event so make sure when you visit, to check the event schedule on their website!

3. The Sentiment Bean - Savannah, GA

ree

The Sentiment Bean is our next coffee shop located in "America's Southern Treasure", Savannah, Georgia. The Sentiment has everything you can ask for from a coffee shop with healthy full brunch menu and all organic and fair trade served coffee. The Sentiment strives itself on being a peace and tranquil place to rest while enjoying refreshments and helping you realize your "Bean." The Sentiment also offers live events (pre-COVID) rather frequently in attempt to find ways the community can come together and meet new people and foster relationships. Why not stop in next time you are around Forsyth Park? It's right across the street!

4. Starshines Cafe and Patisserie - McDonough, GA

ree

Here is a hidden gem if you have ever seen one! Starshines Cafe is not your typical cafe with large seating area and and multiple baristas. This husband wife owned shop operates with a small little corner shop but that doesn't stop them from putting out excellent food and great service! The cafe specializes in contemporary European style pastries and desserts in a French patisserie feel shop. The pastries menu is extensive and the brunch is no pushover itself. This is for sure a must try cafe!

5. Grassroots Coffee Company - Thomasville, GA

ree

To finish the list we are going further south to a personal favorite of mine, Grassroots Coffee in Historic Downtown Thomasville, Georgia. Grassroots is everything you expect from a coffee shop offering a full selection of espresso and beverages as well as fresh healthy breakfast and lunch all provided by local suppliers. Grassroots is a great atmosphere socialize, get some work done, or even catch an open mic night. Grassroots brings a real modern feel to a historic downtown experience.

We hope you enjoyed the list, be sure to share your experiences with us on our social media pages! Also feel free to leave comments and suggestions if you feel we should check a certain business out!
